Ugandan Girls Scholarship Fund

Pupils at Nsuube School

The Ugandan Girls Scholarship Fund was established in 2005.  Since its inception, 10 girls have been assisted with full scholarships to boarding school.

The girls are chosen based on need and reference.  Since 2005 we have offered a full scholarship to the top performing female student at Nsuube Primary School. Our intention is that once that commitment has been made, we will see that child through 4 years of secondary school.  Depending on the status of donations and the success of the children they will then be considered for an additional 2 years of high school, and college or university funding.

Registered Charity Status and Tax Receipts

We have considered a number of options for this fund.  At this time we are not registered as an official charity.  We are considering this as an option along with other possibilities to make donating easier. However, any changes will be made thoroughly and will likely take a year to implement.

What does this mean?   If you do donate to The Ugandan Girls Scholarship 100% of your donation will be used toward tuition or supplies for the girls.   Sheri and Martin are volunteering for the administrative work and will pay any miscellaneous administrative costs incurred.  However, tax receipts will not be issued for donations and as such your donation is NOT tax deductible.

All funds donated will be run through an account established specifically for this reason and each year we will have our accounts reviewed by a bookkeeper and publish a report on how funds were specifically used.

While we appreciate all donations, if you are not comfortable donating under these terms, please consider making your donation to another worthy registered charity.
